High-precision laboratory presses with plates cooling for thermoplastic materials
Our laboratory presses are high-precision machines for producing thermoplastic specimens. These presses are equipped with work surface cooling, which is essential for the proper moulding of thermoplastic materials, as the mould must be cooled at least to solidification temperature before opening.

Custom moulds
Nicem makes custom moulds based on customer requirements, with the option of chrome plating or anti-seize treatment. Generally made of C45 steel.
Trolleys and guides
Manual or automatic extraction trolleys are available, allowing the work surface to be pulled outward, facilitating specimen removal and/or refilling.
The manual extraction trolley is positioned between two guides and is moved directly by the operator.
The automatic extraction trolley is positioned between two guides and moved automatically by two pneumatic cylinders.
In addition, the rubbing surfaces are coated with a special anti-seize treatment to reduce friction between the parts.
Water cooling for thermoplastic materials
Our laboratory presses can be equipped for water cooling.
Cooling of the press plates is essential for the correct moulding of thermoplastic materials, as the mould must be cooled at least to solidification temperature before opening.
The operator can activate the cooling cycle and set the temperature.
Once the compression and hot thermoforming cycle is complete, a solenoid valve will allow water to flow through the press plates. The water will rapidly cool the work plates (approximately 40°C/min).
Once the cooling cycle is complete, the flow of liquid will be stopped and an air purge cycle will automatically start.
The machine automatically begins heating again to return to the required operating temperature. Heating speed is rapid: 200°C in about 18-20 minutes.
The cooling kit includes:
- Aluminum work plates, specially modified for internal water circulation
- Solenoid valve to control the flow of liquid to cool the plates
- Solenoid valve to allow air to bleed any remaining liquid from the plates
- Heat-resistant piping and fittings
- Cooling settings managed by software and touchscreen
- A set point temperature can be set
The machine can be directly connected to a water supply source, such as a simple tap.
If operating temperatures are particularly high, the hot water could initially be directed to a stainless steel tank.
The tank would serve as a storage tank for hot water so that it can be cooled before being discharged.
Alternatively, the connection can also be made via a chiller.
Increased resistances
The heating elements can be upgraded to reach an operating temperature of up to 300°C.
Inverter for speed regulation
Specific materials require slower or faster pressing for proper sample preparation. For this reason, our presses offer the option of adding an inverter to adjust the approach and pressing speed.
Industry 4.0 - 5.0
Nicem offers provision for 4.0 and 5.0 connectivity in accordance with the required standards.
The machines can be equipped with Siemens' OPC UA system, enabling the exchange of incoming and outgoing data.
Why choose our machines?
The accurate control of the work parameters allows the operator to achieve precise results, according to the relevant regulations.
